Scene 2 - Funeral and Tea with a Black Dragon

A fake funeral and delicate negotiations with a Black Dragon deep into the cave complexes in Feng Du.

Whilst not yet dead, Lyris was badly wounded and took many weeks to heal. During this time she experienced new powers, some disconcerting as she unconsciously phased between rooms whilst asleep.

The others continued planning and spent the ill gotten gains on gold - ostensibly as funerary good for Lyris.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, a funeral procession was organised into the Tatzelwyrm zones to bury a casket (filled with gold). As mercenaries, this unusual behaviour was accepted with little curiosity. The other mercenaries honoured Lyris's body ("excellant bait") as it passed. Impasa even read a brief service - "She rode with us, she fought with us, now her spirit accompanies us"

Near the lair of the White Dragon, Oolong used the gold as bait for the Tatzelwyrm. Close enough to Balor's treasure to deter the Tatzelwyrm yet far enough to arouse their greed, the party waited for one of the general adjutants to arrive.

He was...impressive. Oolong negotiated with consumate flair, combining outrageous flattery, honest need and the lure of Shen Wu's gold. The dragon read Oolong's mind but found him worthy and was deftly dissuaded from reading the minds of the rest of the party.

Dates and times were agreed so long as our heroes could open the treasury gates at the appointed hour.
