Khitan Shaman, from the Passeryk Confederacy in Scythian realms.

  Impasa

Brief history : The Kara-Khitan spirit warrior, Impasa, wandered into Almos?s camp one day 120 years ago, hunting Liao Khitan assassins who killed his clan. He believes (guided by his dreams) that they were hired by Eastern Fey sorcerers and had spent much of the past 4 calens pursuing an almost dead trail. They had met before (around 400 years ago) but only in passing. Impasa was guided to Almos by his tribal totem, the Ibex (strength of purpose), in response to Impasa?s plea for revenge (obviously the totem had other ideas).

Impasa was born 500 years ago into the Tuoba sect of the Xianbei clan from the Hebei province in the Manchurian realm that later became part of the Scythian realm. A promising young warrior, he was chosen by the tribe ancestral spirits for shamanic training. Whilst the tribe was at peace (not as often as he would have liked) he served as the sect Shaman, mediator, healer and spiritual guardian. At war he was a towering force in the vanguard and then healer and dispatcher after fighting finished.

He rode with Jebe against Guchlug and his Khitan bride and rode with and against Jebe many times after. Before leaving to eventually join Almos, Impasa was tactician and spiritual adviser to A-pao-chi, leader of one of the khitan Ordos of the Eastern Horde.

Over the past decades Impasa has been hunting on Almos' behalf, spending many years with Almos himself as part of his training. Impasa specialises in the ability to communicate with friendly spirits, especially ancestor spirits, and to work with them.

Impasa was with Almos at the Coming of Age or Walking the Gate (a gathering of all Scythians to the centre of the Scythian Realm at the Valley of the Gate to see who would succeed in going through the Gate). He took part is some of the shamanistic contests (there are also settling of blood feuds etc before Domnu's Chosen enters the gate). He first met Aislinn on her Progress.
