Olvir was big from an early age. His impressive strength was noted around the village from when he beat the blacksmiths lad (3 years his elder) in a wrestling match when he was ten.
At 14 he saw a Tayra being chased by a Wild Boar. He threw a rock at the boar, intending to distract it long enough for the Tayra to escape. This had the rather predictable effect of causing the boar to attack him. He managed to catch it's tusks and was carried along, holding on grimly until the beast tired itself out trying to dislodge him.
The Tayra has followed him around ever since, though as his father said, only out of curiosity to see what mischief he'd get into next.
At 15 Olvir was apprenticed to the local blacksmiths. This was a miserable experience for him, as the blacksmith and his son continually picked on the boy, spoiling his work and charging his parents extra for the "trouble" he caused.
When the circus arrived 2 years later, he saw an opportunity for freedom and ran away to join up. His goal is to become the most powerful man in the universe to ensure that he can never be bullied again.
