 5: Our heroes finally reach the end of their mission where they will either succeed or perish.~~

 7: Preparation included blessings from [Impasa] and gifts of miniature foxes from [Mysuki]. [Fabian] was engaged in his own preparations ([Impasa]'s vitamin stocks were running seriously low).

 9: *Scene 3a Decommisioning the gongs*
10: 
11: [Tanaida]'s task was to ensure that alarms of Feng Du were silent. The massive gongs were sited 300ft above the ground and used to sound standard times, special events and alerts. [Tanaida] quietly climbed up to the gongs, despatched the campanologists and then jumped to the ground, fluttering down the last few feet.

13: *Scene 3b Breaking into the Treasury*
14: 
15: Prior to the big day, [Oolong] had spied on the opening of the treasury, seeing through the false rituals used to hide the genuine opening procedure (he probably knew the real combination better than most of the custodians).
16: 
17: On the day, [Oolong] neutralised one guard with a swift arrow and [Lyris] the other (narrowly missing flattening [Oolong] as the guards body fell towards him). To his surprise (and shock) [Lyris] pulled him through the doors. Even more surprised was the peasant pushing a wheelbarrow past the Treasury! [Lyris] transfixed the Foo Dogs and using the right combination, [Oolong] and [Lyris] opened the doors from the inside and waited for the tide of Tatzelwyrm. Realising that they would be useless to the Tatzelwyrm, [Oolong] gathered a pocketful of diamonds.

19: Once the Tatzelwyrm scout had reported that the gates were open, the main attack began. The largest attack in many years swept through the caverns, swarming across the walls and the guards on top. A large black dragon landed on the gatehouse and neatly swallowed the general.

21: Chaoes and confusion reigned (but no general alarm) as the black dragons swept on to the treasury.

23: *Scene 3c - Cancellation Claws*
24: 
25: En-route to the Crystal Room, [Impasa] stopped off to fix their contracts. Slipping into the contract room he found a massive vault with 10s of thousands of shelves, filled with contracts. Columns between the shelves held the millions of broken spirits waiting to be released to punish the contract breakers.
26: 
27: Summoning an ancestral spirit of calligraphy, he linked and then unravelled the stored contracts. To stave off the guardian spirits, he painted spirit marks onto the walls to deceive the spirits into believing it was the heroes (not including [Lyris] whose contract was already null and void).

29: At this point the librarians took offence and the 6 lichs rushed over to discuss his vandalism. Hastily leaving the chamber, [Impasa] slapped a holy symbol on the door to deter them for a while and ran onto the Crystal Room.

31: *Scene 3d - Crystal Room*
32: 
33: Anya and Mysuki enter Crystal room and cross the trapped floor with help from [Impasa]'s spirit marks on their feet. Climbing the central podium, they start to draw the gems closer. [Mysuki] the dream walker, conjured hundreds of dream foxes to run through the trapped spirit's dreams, guiding them out of their looping nightmares. At this point, [Anya] broke their spirit prison, spirits emerging like miniature supernovas.

35: A few of the spirits of necromancers chose to attack [Anya], one reaching through the podium before she destroyed it.
36: 
37: Watching over events, [Impasa] fended off the bureaucrats who came to intervene and the lichs close behind them. A failed spell from one of the bureaucrats helped neutralise the danger and keep the lichs at bay.
38: 
39: Meanwhile, [Fabian] brought his intrigues to bear on palace politics. 3 were in flames and the others too paranoid to worry about what was happening elsewhere.
