Mountains of the Moon - June 15th

On the Western Front French airmen bomb Karlsruhe and British take, but fail to hold, German front line trench east of Festubert. There is a Zeppelin raid on north-east coast. On the Eastern Front there is a German advance on right bank of San. At sea the Germans lose submarine U.14. In the papers there is a vote of credit for £250,000,000.

Party staying at the Casino Hotel on the outskirts of Cairo

Arriving back with Bashir and Sinclair early in the morning from visiting the fakir, our intrepid heroes receive a calling card from Delacourt, one is returned with an invitation to tea that afternoon.

After a quick nap, they set off for a morning trip to Nile delta on the Princess of the Desert to find the source of the child kidnapping. Using info from the pathology report of the dead waiter, they arrived at a small village. Little of note save the village, a tumulus and a small temple.

Marco and George visited the village where George found a rapport with one of the village elders. They traded goods and he confirmed that the temple dated back to 1st Kingdom times. Minor magical items were available indicating the village was the source.

Harry, Sinclair and Lyris explored the temple and found as a sourse of Malstrum weave that was protecting an older spell. This was deduced to be a site associated with the original forging, a site that was involved in the spiritual flow of the Nile. The temple was a prime source of magical energy which led them to the tunulus where eveidence of recent rituals confirmed suspicions that this was a key Al Kubrah site.

Whilst this was happening, Al Kubrah disguied cultists started to mingle with the vllagers watching George and Marco. With a few exchanged glances, the heroes embarked on the Desert Princess and returned to Cairo.

Later that afternoon Sinclair slipped away to follow up leads with his contacts and the others went to tea with Delacourt. After initial pleasantries, George took Harry and Lyris for a tour of the gardens whilst Delacourt and Marco got down to business. The meeting went well and Marco was invited for a further meeting at Delacourts house.
