Arrived at Lake Tana, found Schlact had visited the many monastries around the lake. He was accompanied by 4 burly "Swiss" and they spent some time looking at the monastry records. One of the monastries had an ancient artifact, a stone imbued with remarkable levels of blue weave, that was studied by Schlact.
After spending a little time at the first monastry they headed up to the source of the Nile. After some investigation, they discovered the suitcases that Schlact and Co. left with belongings (iron, etc). Waiting until moonlight, they then looked through the gate. On the other side they could see some bodies used as fetishes : fear, pain and frenzy.
After a brief discussion, they return back to the monastries to study the books and the stone. They hired a local worthy, a chap called Bekele, to ferry them around the same sites that Schlact visited and stayed at. Stories about the Mother appearing and saving the Son from the appearence of Evil appeared to be a common theme in the records.
It transpired that 'Eve' passed through 80k years ago and the rituals associated with her link to all humans that lived after her gave the site the power to resist the Witch King and created the legend that there is an item of incredible magical significance at Lake Tana (often assumed to be the Arc of the Covenant)...
The party decided to proceed through the nearest Fey gate to the Kingdom of the Witch King…
