17-Aug : tend to the wounded and round-up Turkish prisoners. 7th Lancers and White Company chase the remnants of the 37th with the help from the gunboats.
18-Aug : Collect the 3 Turkish batteries, 8 77mm guns salvaged along with limbers and ammunition. Engineers collect barbed wire (most unused) and position across (rear) approach to entrenchments.
Artillery position guns and start (4" QFs) start ranging shots at far river
Telephone cables run to forward FO positions,
Army starts digging in, adapting Turkish trenches to defend from north.
Runway created and fuel depot. RFC start reconnaisence.
