Shamash

  • Shamash, level 2
  • Dragonborn, Invoker
  • Divine Covenant: Covenant of Wrath
  • Background: Missing Master

Build notes

Request was for a Dragonborn Invoker, with a slightly hippy outlook. Dragonborn don't have a great deal of synergy as they get bonus stats to str and cha. On the other hand invokers are crunchy, and dragonborn do get a bonus to they're healing surges. The breath weapon isn't going to hurt if people get past the frontline to attack you either.

I multiclassed you into Bard, to help soften the almighty smiting that is an Invoker. This provides an healing abilty, the Heal Skill and potential future access to some Bardic powers (charms and the like).

Wisdom is primary stat, with Con as a secondary. Always boost Wis when you have the oportunity. The secondary boost should go to one of Con (more hps and added power effects), Int (added power effects) or maybe Cha (if more Bard is desired).

Missing Master provides you access to the Perception skill, which with your humungous Wis (and the rest of the parties lack of it) is rather needed. It's also quite nice flavour.

Your attacks look low compared to the rest of the parties. This is compensated by the fact that they target Reflexes rather than AC (typically 3 or 4 points lower) and that they effect more than one target. Vanguards Lightning is an area effect (3x3 grid). Divine Bolt allows 2 attacks.

Many of your abilities revolve around Lightning, so I gave you a lightning breath attack. There are probably feats that give bonuses to lightning attacks for later. Given that you're about area control and damage, it'll probably be important to improve your initiative over the levels. Implement expertise will give you a bonus to hit. Most of the Dragonborn racial feats are pretty cool.

Missing Master

"I learned the Art at the hands of Rodraig the Raven. He fled into the portal when the . . . things . . . came, and I've been looking for him ever since."

Your mentor disappeared under mysterious circumstances, and you've been trying to find him or her ever since. What was your master like, and what were the circumstances of the disappearance? What clues do you have that drive you forward? What will do when you find your missing master?
