As they approach Karnak, Lyris feels a strange yearning. 

Nubian attacks while the party is in the Great Hypostyle Hall in the Temple Precinct of Amun-Re, drops rock on Harry and races away - only to discover that English Public Schools prepare their 'gels' for any eventuality... The locals are amazed... 

Interrogation of the man reveals that they can expect to encounter black druids as they go further. 

When George enters the Inner sanctum of Amun the hidden iscriptions are illuminated by Quetzalcoatl...

The Nile is the key to the forging... Weave linking the Valley of the Werewolves and the Mountains of the Moon to the great tree 'Yggdrasil'... Whoever masters the Nile controls the Song of Gaia... 

The party note that there is a weave signature for those that come through the gate and that Lyris has the pattern... She came through 1000 years ago along with black nothingness (something Seraphis mentioned earlier and perceived even in her tomb)

Ciarfiacc enters the Inner Sanctum of the Hidden God (Amun) and activates the inscriptions that 'junior' illuminated for the party... He runs his hand along the stone and the hieroglyphs shift and burn bright red... He laughs and turns away, delighted by the progress of his fell scheme... "As I hoped, drawn like a moth to a flame...."
