Swarms, Goblins and Jelly
Events
The group was attacked by a swarm of needlefang drakes. The drakes were initially difficult to handle, but once the group realised that area of effect attacks were effective, then Shamash and Chant were able to deal with the swarm quite effectively. Jonn contributed by using Thundering Armour to force the drakes into the magical glyphs.
Whilst Hazel was distracted by the drakes, a spectre appeared from behind and attempted to drain her life energy. She beat it off, and once the party had disposed of the last of the drakes, they were able to dispatch the spectre pretty quickly.
In a side room to the crypt the party found one of the hostages a dwarf Adronsius, the town alchemist and a fountain. He'd been badly beaten by the hobgoblins but was recovered enough to walk. Searching the room Hazel found a potion and 10 gp in a pouch hidden in the fountain.
Adronsius was able to give them basic directions one of the other hostages, so the group decided to press on to rescue

Proceeding to the western passage the group came across a group of hobgoblins minions formed up around their commander. Before they could charge Jonn threw a flask that raised an cloud of acid causing the minions to choke and pass out. Shamash finished them off with Lightning.
Though made of sterner stuff the commander realised there was no way he could beat the combined forces facing him. He fled through the rooms western door, chased by Hazel, Chant and Quinn. The western room contained a strange flicker portal. Chant stoped the hobgoblin in his tracks allowing the others to surround him.
Attracted by either the noise, the movement, the smell or some other magical means an Ochre Jelly entered the portal searching for food...
Technical Notes
The group worked well together. Shamash and (to a lesser extent) Jonn proved very capable at dealing with minions.
